A new Iveco Daily in September

Following more than two million models produced, the Iveco Daily is to be facelifted in September : a slight aesthetic change and a new range of engines will be on the agenda.

Exterior aspect

Aesthetically, the new Iveco Daily retains its silhouette (this is not a totally new model), but differs from the current version with a reworked front end, which is often the case with what the English call a ‘mid-life upgrade’. The only notable new element involves the lights, which include the daytime driving lamps (compulsory since February 2011 on LUV’s and from August 2012 on heavy trucks), and corner lighting for parking manoeuvres.

Interior layout

The steering wheel can now be regulated for height, and there are extra seat adjustment possibilities.

Engines

It is here that the major innovations on this Daily 2011 are to be found: the 3 litre FPT Industrial engine in Euro 5 version delivers 205 bhp and torque of 470 Nm. It is bolstered by two turbos, a small one of low inertia (for low revs) and another larger one for obtaining maximum power.
This engine is available in diesel and natural gas versions, where it responds to EEV norms.

The FPT Industrial d 2.3 litre engine (126 bhp), receives an extra 30 Nm of torque and a new multiple injection Multijet II.

Safety systems

The new ESP 9 safety system fitted with active sensors includes the following security functions :

- ABS (anti wheel blocking),
- EBD (electronic braking distributor),
- ASR (anti-skid),
- MSR (engine torque regulator during deceleration),
- ESP (electronic stability control),
- AFU (emergency braking assistance),
- Hill Holder (hill start assistance),
- LAC (control of the longitudinal distribution of the load),
- TSM (trailer swing management),
- HRB (hydraulic braking assistance on the rear drive train in the case of emergency braking),
- HFC (heating compensation),
- RMI et ROM (anti roll-over functions).
