´Haulier of the Year´ prize awarded by the magazine L´Officiel des Transporteurs in March 2007

Based in the Drôme, in 2006 the Bert Group achieved a turnover of 65 million EUR, of which 57 million EUR were generated by transport/chartering and the rest by logistics (100,000 m2 of warehouse space). Its specialties are industrial goods, food and drink, chemistry, paper and steelmaking. One of the recent areas of development for Bert is the leasing of vehicles together with the driver, a highly-appreciated solution in France because of its very restrictive social laws. Bert emerged as the winner from a group of six finalists after an initial selection by dossier followed by a 30-minute oral examination in front of a jury. Patrice Péricard, seen in the photo together with Yves Fraysse (Marketing Manager), has been the CEO of Bert since 1992. (With the collaboration of Benoît Barbedette, editor-in-chief of l´Officiel des Transporteurs)

Best Practice

The Bert Group was a family company which was acquired in 1992 by four managers who then become partners. This was a way to ensure the future of a family company while pursuing its development thanks to a clear entrepreneurial vision.
