Daimler Trucks sold 20% more vehicles in 2011

Daimler Trucks made a significant contribution to the financial results of the Daimler group in 2011. Its global sales increased (by 20% to 425,800 vehicles), as did its turnover. Operating results are also substantially up, with a return on sales of 6.5%, against 5.5% in 2010.
For 2012, Daimler once again wishes to increase the number of vehicles sold by taking advantage of the recovery in the North American and Japanese markets and of the joint-ventures, either operational or about to be, in Russia, China and India. No forecast of the size of the European market has been given but Daimler Trucks wishes to grow ‘faster than the market’.
