Shippers surveyed by the European Freight Forwarding Index were reassured by transport volumes in August, and optimistic about October. The decrease in activity was less dramatic than expected in August, and less so than in 2009. The index forecast rises to 66 for September and 74 for October, which appears to push aside any possibility of activity volumes dipping once again.
