´Entrepreneur Prize´ in the category ´medium-sized companies´ awarded by Transport en Logistiek Nederland in December 2007
Formed in 1987, the Kuipers Logistics company rapidly specialised in transport to the countries of the former Eastern bloc. When the collapse of the ruble made these markets insufficiently profitable, Kuipers reoriented itself towards Italy. Today, the strength of the company is to offer a JIT service in 24 hours to the north of Italy, door-to-door, thanks to a driver relay which takes place in Basel. This system makes it possible to ensure deliveries to the half-hour in Italy, thus securing a decisive advantage over the competition.
To guarantee that the delivery deadlines are absolutely respected, flawless computer systems are of course necessary, along with highly competent drivers. In this period of driver shortages, Kuipers Logistics is proud of the fact that it has never had to publish a recruitment ad. Best Practice
Safety plays a central role in the strategy of the company, which transports products with high added value. Major investments (protected car park, cameras, alcolocks in the vehicles), along with the organisation of the transport missions so as to use only secure car parks in Italy have made it possible to sharply reduce the number of merchandise thefts.
