Move towards stricter application of workers' rights abroad

go back print this page     send page by mail     Comments

László Andor, the European work and social affairs commissioner, has declared himself clearly in favour of the strict application of current regulations involving workers on assignment in the European Union. This declaration was made during a parliamentary debate on workers’ rights within the Union. The socialist grouping of the European Union has been demanding for a long time that this regulation be more strictly applied, and in particular that it should apply to road transport, which is not currently the case.
