Renault Trucks reflects on the ideal distribution truck

go back print this page     send page by mail     Comments

Renault Trucks has brought together into its Connect concept all of the ideas designed to create the ideal distribution truck by 2030/2040.

It will probably be electric powered, with motors located in the wheel hubs. This, combined with battery location in the chassis, would ena  ble a low and totally flat floor.

The driver’s seat would be in the middle, with entry from the left or right at will, and direct access to the load area. The driver would also benefit from excellent visibility, further reinforced by various on-board rear view systems.

The Connect concept currently only consists of a 1/25 scale model, but Renault Trucks promises further developments on the same theme over the coming years.
