The electrification of the road transport of merchandise does not only involve the development of electric trucks working with accumulators. Several projects for charging via induction are underway across the world, but now Siemens is proposing a supply by overhead wires, similar to the system used by trams and trolley-buses.
The German group presented the system during a symposium on electric vehicles in the United States.
